Membership to NRHH is considered through a nomination-application process. The process of obtaining NRHH membership is as follows:
Nomination
Nominations for NRHH membership become available each academic semester. The Fall 2024 cycle nominations have not started yet. Further details will be provided in the upcoming Fall semester.
Individuals who have nominating privileges include:
- Current NRHH Members
- Resident Assistants (RAs)
- Campus Residences Professional Staff (RHDs, QDs, etc.)
- Undergraduate College Advisors
- Dean of Students Professional Staff
- Residence Hall Association Executive Board Members
- Residents
- Anyone!
Application
All nominated individuals will be allowed to apply for NRHH membership. Students currently in their first semester at Stony Brook University will be invited to apply for Candidate Membership, with all others receiving applications for full membership. The nature of the application is at the discretion of the Executive Board but usually requires a resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation.
Interview and Selection
Individuals who submit applications for NRHH membership will be given a formal interview, conducted by members of the Executive Board, Advisor, and General Body Members. These interviews, along with the submitted application materials, will form the basis for the selection by the Executive Board for newly inducted members.
